Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from 1 John 3:1-6. Love has overcome the barriers and chasms between God and His creation. Now, we are not strangers but His children.
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears,[a] we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3 All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.
4 Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. 5 But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. 6 No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.”

Children of Love
My mother has always referred to the spouses of her children as “children of love”. Society has had us refer to them as “in-law” connecting the family by law as opposed to connecting the family by love. What a wonderful way to consider and see the inclusion of everyone in the family.
You have been adopted by God the Father. As a co-heir with Jesus, we are the pride and joy of the Father. Our Father has called us closer, to get to know Him. If we abode in the Father as Jesus did, we will know the Father’s will. Knowing His will we will be effective in bringing Him glory and the kingdom of God to earth.
As a child of love, you have been welcomed to the family with open arms. You have full birthrights to the kingdom of God. What are you going to do today to extend the kingdom and bring glory to God?

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you, Father, that You love us so very much and made a way for us to be drawn into Your family. We, Your children, come into Your courts confidently. The blood of Jesus has covered our sins and removed them from us as far as the East is from the West. I draw nearer to You today so that I can hear You more clearly.
