Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from 1 Corinthians 13:8-13. We live in a world that craves and aspires to be loved. However, in a selfish and sinful world, the world wants to receive love and not give it so much!
“Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

The greatest gift of all is love!
I am often reminding my children about how people desire to be loved. When others are mean and ugly to us, it is easy to forget that they, like all of us, just want to be loved and valued. Those that find themselves out of God’s will, will lack the security and beloved relationship with their creator.
For these people that lack the presence of God in their lives and don’t get to experience His love fully, they will always be lacking in every aspect of their life. God has created us with a hole that only He can fill, and living a life without it filled leads to fear, discontentment, and anxiety.
The greatest gift that we receive from God is His love. It is because of His love that our salvation flows with all of the other blessings. If love is the greatest gift that we can receive from God, then it too is the greatest gift that we can give to all of those around us.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you, Father God, that You have so freely given us love. Your love has covered a multitude of my sins and leads You to bless and guide me. Help me by Your Holy Spirit to give the gift of love generously and unconditionally to all that I see today and every day in the future.
