Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from John 15:9-14. The greater the love, the greater the sacrifice level. We are called to love not only our family but our enemies as friends and family.
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command.”
Remain in love as Jesus
Jesus wants us to live and experience the same joy that He has within Him. He said to the disciples, the way to experience this joy is through remaining in God and following His commands. We live in a world hurting so much. They are so depressed and wary because they have forgotten to do as Jesus suggested.

The second command from Jesus was to love your neighbor as yourself. No greater love can you have for others than to lay your life down on their behalf. Jesus backed up His statement dying on the cross for each one of us.
Let us take heed of Jesus’ example and love as He has loved us. It will require that we make some sacrifice at some point, but our love will change the world.
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you, Jesus, for sharing the example of love for us. You have loved us because the Father loved You and we can love the world because You have loved us. We will only have true joy when we are living life exuding love for others, so help us by Your Holy Spirit to love them.
