Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Matthew 18:15-20. Jesus did not ascend into heaven to be seated on His throne and rule passionately. No, Jesus sent His Holy Spirit to lead, guide, and be with us in every situation. He also sent us!
“If your brother or sister[b] sins,[c] go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’[d] 17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
18 “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be[e] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[f] loosed in heaven.

19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
Thank you Jesus that You are here to lead
We saw often in the early church how they were a closely-knit community that lived life and testified to the world as a singular family. So often today we see Christians living isolated and lonely lives. While we have the comfort and leadership of the Holy Spirit, the church gets to be the hands and feet of Jesus to each other.
In the highs and lows of life, we can get to strengthen and hold each other up or celebrate the successes.
Let us look and find the opportunities to be more involved in the lives of our brothers and sisters in Christ. How can we hold them accountable only seeing them for 5 minutes every second Sunday? If our lockdowns should have taught the churches anything, is that we need to be more involved in each other’s lives. Let us be Jesus to each other more than ever before.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you, Jesus, that You are everywhere with us. You are there with the Holy Spirit and with my brothers and sisters. Help me to speak and act on Your behalf in the situations and peoples lives around me on Your behalf.
