Daily Devotional – How I Long for the Presence of God

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Psalm 27:4-9. Better is one day in the courts and palace of the Almighty than a thousand anywhere else. How I long for and desire to be in that place where the glory of God has flooded.

“One thing I ask from the Lord,
    this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
    all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
    and to seek him in his temple.
For in the day of trouble
    he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent
    and set me high upon a rock.

Then my head will be exalted
    above the enemies who surround me;
at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy;
    I will sing and make music to the Lord.

fall scents for your home

Hear my voice when I call, Lord;
    be merciful to me and answer me.
My heart says of you, “Seek his face!”
    Your face, Lord, I will seek.
Do not hide your face from me,
    do not turn your servant away in anger;
    you have been my helper.
Do not reject me or forsake me,
    God my Savior.”

Find safety and security in the temple of the Almighty

When we admit that we are not our own savior, but rather that we are in need of a savior, look unto the heavens. Call out to the Lord of lords and creator of all in hope. In faith call out because you can be assured that Jesus will be there for the one that humbles themself.

Yes, our Father will hear us, and out of His merciful heart, He will answer our cries. We will not be forsaken or left for the enemy of our souls. Rather we will be invited into His courts.

Let us come to taste and see the joy of drawing nearer to our savior. Give your heart and soul to the only living God and Lord!

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you Father that You do not turn us away. Give me today clean hands and hearts as we seek Your face and presence.

In Jesus’s Name,
Amen
