Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Proverbs 24: 1-6. There is much to say about wisdom when it comes to having a home and raising a family. Wisdom is a necessity.
“Do not envy the wicked, do not desire their company; 2 for their hearts plot violence, and their lips talk about making trouble. By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; 4 through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.
5 The wise prevail through great power, and those who have knowledge muster their strength. 6 Surely you need guidance to wage war, and victory is won through many advisers.“
Wisdom is the start
To a large extent, it can determine the success or failure of your family: its strengths and its weaknesses, its joys, and its sorrows.
When you are just starting in life, you likely have a picture in your mind of how you want your life to be. Whether single, engaged or married, you want to be prepared to build a strong home. What I can tell you for sure, the only way to get there is through obtaining godly wisdom.
Listen, you have to be dedicated to getting wisdom. Certainly, you have a measure of wisdom, but there is much more to be obtained. Crave it. If you do, understanding will come, and if you live by it, your home will be a home of peace and love. There will be beautiful treasured memories of a life well-lived.
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for today and all that you have done for me. Help me, Lord to get wisdom. Help me to walk in wisdom. I ask you, Lord, for a strong, godly home filled with precious treasures.
In Jesus Name,
Amen
