Daily Devotional – Hope Gives Us Strength For Today

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Hebrews 10: 19-25. When we need strength to get through today, we can not find the strength from today. Looking into the future for what we are hoping for will give us the energy to get up and move on.

Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Who is your hope in?

Our future offers us hope. We have hope not because of what we will achieve in the future, we have hope because of who we hoping in. As followers of Jesus, we have placed our hope in Him. As we consider who holds our future, our confidence and peace can arise. Jesus is faithful, he faithfully went to the cross for us and will continue to do what is good and best for us!

Our future is confirmed and secure. No matter what, no one can steal your salvation! God has paid the price and secured our future with Him.

So let us encourage each other to focus on our glorious future. Let us focus on the day when there will be no suffering or pain. A day when we will see Jesus face to face and hold Him close. Remember that because of what Jesus did in the past and the future He has planned for us, nothing can compare.

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, God, for the future that you have laid before us. Your promises of what lies ahead can be the fuel to my faith in this time of struggle and pain. I stand firm in who You are, and that You will be faithful yet again!

In Jesus Name,

Amen
