Daily Devotional – God’s Promises and Word

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from John 1:9-16. Our heavenly Father has constantly given us promises, warranted by His great and mighty name. His word, Jesus, came forth as our savior in flesh and answer to promises!

The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

15 (John testified concerning him. He cried out, saying, “This is the one I spoke about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’”) 16 Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given.”

Jesus is the word and answer to promises

The word that God spoke brought the universe, world, and all its inhabitants to life. The foundations of the earth were spoken into being through words. From the mouth of the Almighty came the word that created everything.

Jesus was part of this, as the word itself. Everything that we see and get to experience was created through Jesus. Then the word came as yet another answer to the people of the world. Jesus came as our savior and redeemer.

Jesus came to earth with grace and mercy and He handed it out compassionately to all that He met. He healed those that suffered from sickness and disabilities. Set those bound by satan free and restored the Kingdom of God upon the earth. Let us live as we have already received the victory today.

Let’s Pray

Dear Jesus,

Thank you for coming to earth as the word and answer to Your prophecies. I place my faith and hope in Your word and prophecy, holding fast onto You and Your faithfulness.

In Your Name,

Amen
