Daily Devotional – God’s Promises for 2023 #7

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from 2 Corinthians 12:6-10. In a world of facades and appearances, men push out their chests and women flatter their eyelashes. The world has taught us to fake it till we make it!

“Even if I should choose to boast, I would not be a fool, because I would be speaking the truth. But I refrain, so no one will think more of me than is warranted by what I do or say, 7 or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

God promises us strength in weakness!

That feeling in our gut when we are confronted by our fears and the ridicule of others! We all know it all too well. We all feel as though we swim through life mostly drowning. Weak and insufficient, it is all too easy to succumb to the lies from the enemy.

God has not promised to remove us from life to avoid the torments of the enemy but He has made His strength available. We are able to surrender our every situation to Him and His intervention!

The promise from our God and Father is that He be the strength to those that are weak. Rather than resisting and trying to overcome life in our own strength, we can only be stronger when we rely on the strength of our Savior.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

gifts or mom

Thank you Father that Jesus demonstrated such great strength and resilience while walking upon the earth. Give me His strength today so that I can rest in my weakness.

In Jesus’s Name,

Amen
