Daily Devotional – God’s Promises for 2023 #3

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Deuteronomy 31:3-8. It is easy to feel alone and forsaken by everyone around us. Jesus stood before the priest accused and all alone. Jesus stood in that place of solidarity and understands how you feel.

“The Lord your God himself will cross over ahead of you. He will destroy these nations before you, and you will take possession of their land. Joshua also will cross over ahead of you, as the Lord said. And the Lord will do to them what he did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites, whom he destroyed along with their land. The Lord will deliver them to you, and you must do to them all that I have commanded you. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance. The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

fall scents for your home

God has promised to not forsake you!

People around you will leave you hanging. Whether it be those that you work with or family. So often we will be left wondering why we are singled out and stand alone.

While we may stand alone in the physical world, open your eyes to the spiritual world. Standing beside you and all behind you are Jesus and all the angels of the Lord’s army. You and I are never alone because our Father goes everywhere with us.

The promise from our God and Father that He will not forsake us. Despite the shortcomings of others, our Father is not limited by the human experience and sin. God goes before us preparing the way and comes behind us as encouragement.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you Father that Jesus stood alone before the accusers. He understands the feelings of being left high and dry. Thank you that though others may, You do not forsake me!

In Jesus’s Name,

Amen
