Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from John 16:29-33. Confidence in sports is a marvelous thing to watch. When an athlete has confidence, they attempt unthought things just because they can.
“Then Jesus’ disciples said, “Now you are speaking clearly and without figures of speech. 30 Now we can see that you know all things and that you do not even need to have anyone ask you questions. This makes us believe that you came from God.”
31 “Do you now believe?” Jesus replied. 32 “A time is coming and in fact has come when you will be scattered, each to your own home. You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me.
33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
When we try something, while there is a risk of it backfiring, there is also the chance that it will work out. We never know until we take the step in faith. Someone who is confident in their image and standing with God is more likely to take a step in faith.
The enemy has come to steal, kill, and destroy s in any way possible. If he has whittled down your confidence in the victory that Jesus has, then he has all but won.
The promise from our God and Father that He is the overcomer and victor. No matter how life may appear, remove the distorted lenses and replace them with the words and promises of God. Take steps and decisions in faith and confidence that Jesus wins it all in the end. You may lose a few battles, but the result has already been sealed.
