Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Isaiah 41:8-13. In a world that is filled with sin and people seeking to serve themselves, you and I need protection. We all need someone in our corner that is bigger and stronger than we are.
“But you, Israel, my servant,
Jacob, whom I have chosen,
you descendants of Abraham my friend,
9 I took you from the ends of the earth,
from its farthest corners I called you.
I said, ‘You are my servant’;
I have chosen you and have not rejected you.
10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
11 “All who rage against you
will surely be ashamed and disgraced;
those who oppose you
will be as nothing and perish.
12 Though you search for your enemies,
you will not find them.
Those who wage war against you
will be as nothing at all.
13 For I am the Lord your God
who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear;
I will help you.”
God has promised to protect you!
As a member of God’s Kingdom, we are often put into a vulnerable position. The world is either looking to persecute us because of their hatred of God, or they are seeking to serve themselves at the expense of others.
We have two choices. Firstly we can put up our defenses and hands to fight the world in our own strength. The second option is to lean on the strength and might of our savior Jesus. Jesus after all has overcome this world and is stronger than all that it can throw His way.
The promise from our God and Father that He will be our protector. Though this world may attempt to destroy and disgrace us, He is the ultimate authority. He is in our corner and will protect us against all that is thrown our way.
Let’s Pray
Dear Father,
Thank you Father that You sent Jesus to stand in my place. He took upon Himself my sins and stands as my protector from all that this world can bring my way.
In Jesus’s Name,
