Daily Devotional – God’s Promises for 2023 #1

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from John 3:16-21. As humans, we have a few fundamental needs. There has been much debate as to what these are, but as Jesus said, man doesn’t live on bread alone!

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.”

God has promised to love you!

We all understand that we may die without eating or drinking. The sustenance of food and water only scratches the surface. A person can live much longer than you realize without physical nourishment.

If you have the emotional and spiritual strength you can overcome the pain of being without. In the world, we can clearly see how living without love and its security can cause total destruction. People and the worlds that they live in crumble without the presence of love.

The promise from our God and Father that we need to hold onto today is love. His love has been the driving force and reason behind every action from before time.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you Father that You have loved me from before I knew You. Help me to lean on the strength and security of Your love. You promised to love the world, help me to show them that You love them too.

In Jesus’s Name,

Amen
