Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Hebrews 1:1-4. Our God created us for a relationship with Him. In Genesis, He came in the cool of the evening to be with Adam and Eve, and then He came in flesh as Jesus. Now each of us has direct access to His loving arms through His Spirit.
“In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. 3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. 4 So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.”
God has brought heaven to earth!
As I walked this morning I look heavenward. I raised my voice and reached out to my Father in heaven. Just like that, I knew that I was engulfed in the arms of my savior. I could feel and experience His love and compassion in my spirit. The goosebumps throughout my body were evidence that the hand of God was with me right there, right then!
Jesus came to earth, fully God and fully man, not only to die on the cross and restore all of humankind to Himself but also to walk among us. God created us for Him and for us to live in Him. Jesus cherished the time walking among His creation. He was able to grasp and understand what it means to be human!
Limited by His physical presence, Jesus left earth to be replaced by the Holy Spirit. The presence of God is now everywhere all the time. He is eagerly waiting for us to turn our gaze and attention toward Him. Let us fix our attention on God, the lover of our souls, and allow ourselves to be drawn toward Him.
Let’s Pray
Dear Father,
Thank you for sending Your son Jesus to live among us on this earth. It demonstrates to us the desire that You have to be with and among Your creation. Come closer to me today as I long for Your presence in my life.
In Jesus Name,
Amen
