Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Colossians 3: 12-17. Many books, movies, and stories speak about the power of love. Many of us are convinced that we are romantics at heart. Love, true love, there is nothing stronger!
“ Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.“

In Love, Jesus came to us
It was because of God’s love for us that He broke all laws and came to earth in the form of a baby. Jesus, the son of God, was born with the primary purpose of dying. He may have healed many people, raised the dead from the grave but primarily Jesus came to earth to die and pour out His blood as an atonement for our sins.
From Jesus’ first step as a baby, He was on a collision course for the cross. There was to be one less step that He would take and one less breath. The closer that He came to the inevitable sacrifice, the heavier it weighed on His shoulders and spirit. Love is what kept Jesus persevering and pushing on till His death and resurrection.
You can see the strength of true love. Love is definitely the strongest commitment that we can show to our creator and God, but also towards each other. In a world that is starved of truth and love, may you share the love from our Father. Share His love with all of those around you so that they can experience some hope!

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you, God, that You have so freely given love. It is who You are, and You have made it available to us. Help me to share Your love. Help me to give Your true love no matter the sacrifice to those around me. So that Your Kingdom may come and so that You will be glorified!
