Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Psalm 139:1-10. You were created and known by God before your parents knew of you. By His Spirit, He was within the womb of your mother as He knitted you together perfectly in His image.
“You have searched me, Lord,
and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue
you, Lord, know it completely.
5 You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.“
I once heard that God knows us so very well, that He knows exactly how we will react and act. He knows how we will choose and act in every situation because He knows and studies us so intently and intimately.
God knows you and every dark secret. He was with you then and also with you right now. No matter your persuasion, faith level, or salvation, God knows you. He knows you more than you will ever know Him.
So why will Jesus say that He doesn’t know those that He sends away on judgment day? Perhaps because we sometimes do not honestly come before God with everything and no masks. Do you come before God truthfully?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you, Father, that You have invested Yourself in me. You have created and know everything about me. Forgive me for not being close to as committed to You and the search of Your heart. I come before you today with no other concerns or demands. I just want to know You, and You to know me!
In Jesus Name,
Amen
