Daily Devotional – Glory Belongs to God

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Psalms 24: 1-10Our King is the King of glory. He rules and reigns over all the earth and all that is within it. He alone is worthy of glory and praise. Have we taken our eyes off of God and replaced Him with an image, an idol of who we want Him to be?

“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it,
    the world, and all who live in it;
for he founded it on the seas
    and established it on the waters.

Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord?
    Who may stand in his holy place?
The one who has clean hands and a pure heart,
    who does not trust in an idol
    or swear by a false god.[a]

fall scents for your home

They will receive blessing from the Lord
    and vindication from God their Savior.
Such is the generation of those who seek him,
    who seek your face, God of Jacob.[b][c]

Lift up your heads, you gates;
    be lifted up, you ancient doors,
    that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
    The Lord strong and mighty,
    the Lord mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, you gates;
    lift them up, you ancient doors,
    that the King of glory may come in.
10 Who is he, this King of glory?
    The Lord Almighty—
    he is the King of glory.”

How do we talk so flippantly about God these days? We are referring to and speaking about the Almighty God who holds the world in His hands. We can not approach God, we can not go up upon His mountain and stand upon His holy ground. We are talking about the King of kings, and the Lord of lords. He is the ruler of all!

Well thankfully, Jesus came in and changed the picture. His sacrifice on the cross pays for our redemption and salvation. He has allowed us to lift our heads and receive the blessing of God’s righteousness.

Holy, holy, holy is the lamb that was slain. He is worthy, worthy, worthy of worship and adoration. He was and is and is still yet to come all that we need. Do you believe that God is enough for you?

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

I stand on the firm on the sacrifice of Jesus as my savior. Thank you that you came and sacrificed yourself on the cross that I may enter the holy place and commune with the King of glory. May I bring glory to You today in all that I do!

In Jesus’ name,

Amen
