Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Colossians 3:12-17. We have been created by God for God and His glory. God desired from the beginning to have fellowship and dwelling with His human race, so why not draw closer!
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

As we draw closer God is glorified
I do not mean for it to sound like I am speaking of selfish salvation. Jesus died so that you and I could draw closer to the throne of God. The love of the Father was so great that He sacrificed His own to redeem us for Him. So although Jesus died for all creation, He also died so that I could draw closer to God personally.
As we draw closer to God and allow Him to shower us with His love, presence, and forgiveness we will be clothed in His presence. Where ever we go, we will take the Holy Spirit and the Father God, and where God is, there is power!
Following Jesus is an all-consuming endeavor. Let us find ourselves fighting for the presence and closeness to our Father and creator. So when God leads us in life’s situations with His compassion and humility, we can take a step back and watch God’s name be glorified!
