Daily Devotional – We Are All Equal

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Galatians 3:23-29. We are constantly told how divided this world is. Apparently, there is a division between race, gender, and many other differences that divide us. That may be for those of this earthly kingdom, but for those that are part of the body of Christ, we all equal and the same.

“Before the coming of this faith,[j] we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. 24 So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. 25 Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian.

26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

Does a body’s hand attack its foot?

The greatest testament to God and His amazing gospel is His church. I wish that the church would focus more on sanctifying itself. The body of Christ should become the spotless and pure bride for Christ that we are called to be. The church will then reflect the light of God in a dark world.

As we become more like Jesus and the church that God has called us to be, the things of this world will fall away. The selfish desires and prejudices are overtaken by the desire to love each other and bring benefit to each other for their good and benefit.

Let us ensure that the church is the example to the world of God and His love. A love that is greater than any fear that drives self-preservation and actions. Right here, right now, let us put our concerns and worries in the hands of God and do as He has commanded, let us love those around us, as we have been loved by Him!

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You that You have loved me with no pre-requisites. Before I turned my eyes toward You, You loved me and reached out with forgiveness. Help me today to love those around me as You have loved me, so that I can live out Your good news for all mankind.

In Jesus Name,
