Daily Devotional – The Bride Sings Hallelujah

daily edvotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Revelation 19:6-10. This life is temporary. One day all that we have known to be life will no longer be. Someone famous once said, “none of us will get to avoid this side of life.”

“Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:

“Hallelujah!
For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
Let us rejoice and be glad
    and give him glory!
For the wedding of the Lamb has come,
and his bride has made herself ready.
Fine linen, bright and clean,
    was given her to wear.”

(Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God’s holy people.)

Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God.”

10 At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers and sisters who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus.”

Jesus’ bride is preparing themselves!

As we step from this earth into eternity, we will find ourselves face to face with the creator and Lord of all. We are all one breath away from our personal judgment day! If you are like me, this is something that I am looking forward to. I am looking forward to God whispering the words “well good and faithful servant” into my ears as He draws me closer.

How beautiful it will be to be there in the presence of my God and savior, then one whom I love so very much. Like running a race, I am pushing on towards the prize, towards the end of life where I can confidently run into the arms of Jesus!

I will cry out with the sea of saints and angels “Hallelujah”!

It is all too easy to take our eyes off of the prize as we strive to make mortgage payments, deal with our boss and people around us. Let us remember today that this is all temporary and prepare ourselves for our savior, Jesus!

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, Jesus, that You came and died so that I could live. Your death has given me confidence, there is more to come after this life. I focus my eyes upon You and receiving Your praise and adoration.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
