Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from 1 Deuteronomy 11: 26-32. What if all that we have thought was God chastising, was God’s blessing and mercy? God has laid before us blessing or curse, which do you choose today?
“See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse— 27 the blessing if you obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today; 28 the curse if you disobey the commands of the Lord your God and turn from the way that I command you today by following other gods, which you have not known. 29 When the Lord your God has brought you into the land you are entering to possess, you are to proclaim on Mount Gerizim the blessings, and on Mount Ebal the curses. 30 As you know, these mountains are across the Jordan, westward, toward the setting sun, near the great trees of Moreh, in the territory of those Canaanites living in the Arabah in the vicinity of Gilgal. 31 You are about to cross the Jordan to enter and take possession of the land the Lord your God is giving you. When you have taken it over and are living there, 32 be sure that you obey all the decrees and laws I am setting before you today.“
God offers you the choice
This scripture was Moses offering his guidance to the people of Israel before they entered the promised land. He was not going to follow them but wanted to ensure that they received the promises of God. It is a clear and concise instruction, follow God’s laws and decrees.

God our creator, has created us and knows our intimate workings. He has created us with specific needs and directions on how to best benefit from this life that He has given us. Jesus summed it up in the statement, “Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you!”
When we come back to the truth, we see that if we live and love each other. With the certain parameters that God has laid out, we will live in a world of harmony. In the same way that growing certain plants require specific directions, people do too. If we lived our lives according to God’s direction, we would have a very different world! That would be a great blessing not only to those around us but ourselves!

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you, God, that You have laid out before me the map and directions of how to live life. Lead me today by Your Spirit to live according to Your laws and decrees. May You be glorified by all my actions and life every day.
