Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Luke 23:44-49. Fewer and fewer people are turning on their TVs to watch or listen to the news. Frustrated by the “fake news” or the depressing news, why would we want to tune in?
“It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, 45 for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. 46 Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.”[e] When he had said this, he breathed his last.
47 The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God and said, “Surely this was a righteous man.” 48 When all the people who had gathered to witness this sight saw what took place, they beat their breasts and went away. 49 But all those who knew him, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.”

The best news that should be broadcast!
Jesus commit His life into the hands of the Father and resigned to death. The purpose of His time on earth had arrived and Jesus had just nailed the fate of satan and his cronies. The blood of Jesus poured from the cross covering all the sins for eternity.
The best news ever is that Jesus has fought the fight and has won. Everything has been done, and all that you and I need to do is accept. Accept the salvation that is on offer.
If you are drowning in your sin and burdens, stop for a second and consider why you are trying so hard? What can you do that Jesus has not already done?
As we celebrate the victory that Jesus won so many years ago today, remember that His sacrifice. The death of Jesus on the cross has paid forward the price to cover all of your inequities. Rest in the victory today!

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you, Jesus, for going to the cross on my behalf. Thank you for dying and winning the battle against sin. The best news that I have ever heard is that You died for me. I want to live with the realization of it today.
