Daily Devotional – So Beautifully Created

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Colossians 3: 5-11. I am fearfully and wonderfully made by God! You have been created beautifully, with breath and life for the glory of God!

Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.[b] You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11 Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.”

Created in God’s image

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” Psalm 19: 1

You are a walking testimony to the greatness of God. He has created you beautifully in His image. Does that mean that we all look the same? Not at all!

You have been given the capacity to do as God does. You can love, cherish and be gracious to those around you. We have been given the ability to be creative and ingenious. God has gifted us with compassion, sensitivity and the need to have relationships with others.

God has created you beautifully and perfectly. We may not have the perfect body or life as portrayed by the media. We live in an imperfect world, but the angels stare in wonder at you! You are a perfect miracle that God created for a time such as this!

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, God, that you are have created me. No matter the challenges, frustrations, and fears that I face, I will turn to you in worship! You have created me in Your image, carefully constructing not only my physical body but my character and spirit too. May you receive glory from all that I do today and in all the tomorrows to come.

In Jesus Name,
