Is it the Clouds or Storm That Keep You From Moving Forward?

Are the clouds keeping you from moving forward or is it the storm? Sometimes in life we either are stuck in the clouds or can’t move forward because of the big storm we feel around us.

When we are in the clouds it is usually due to lack of clarity on a situation or thing. Feeling foggy in our thought process or unclear on what direction to take or how to proceed is what we need to overcome. Being able to see through the clouds and move forward is the plan God wants for us but sometimes the clouds also come from having too many uncertainties surrounding us. Focusing on clarity and freshness is important so we can reassess our goals, plans and aspirations.  When we focus on those key things we will start to see the road map again in front of us and the clouds will start fading away and thus the rainbow will appear.

Just like it says in Genesis –

Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds,

(Genesis 9:14 NIV)

Knowing that in all situations and circumstances God has a master plan of how everything flows. Sometimes we do need to sit in the clouds to wait for our rainbow to shine through. He purposely moves us in and out of situations so we can continue to grow and learn.

Or if we are in the storms can sometimes be so overwhelming that we cannot see which way is up. But God does, He knows why the storm is happening and He will provide the clarity for us to function through it. When in a storm of any kind it could be we have been a contributing factor in it. Lack of knowledge and speaking without thinking can most often get us all into trouble. That’s when God steps in and says we can use this as another learning opportunity for growth. He never wants to hurt us or make us suffer but He does want us to grow deeper and closer to Him and his word.

Just like in Job

Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm. He said: “Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge? Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. (Job 38:1-3 NIV)

Understanding that at times we are not wise or make the right chooses and that God will account for those mistakes and will make us accountable to Him as to what we are doing. But in Jobs case he was completely obedient to The Lord and had his whole world turned upside down. When he started doubting in the storm that’s when the Lord stepped in.

Life will have us in the clouds sometimes or we could be battling through a large storm. Whatever it may be it is essential to know that God is the only one that can make the rainbow shine through the clouds or help us be accountable for what is happening so we can ultimately come out of the storm.
