Daily Devotional – God is Up To Something

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Philippians 1:3-11. There is hope for me still. For as long as I stand on this side of the grave, God still has more for me to do. He is working all things together with this willing soul for my good and His glory.

“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me. God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.”

Faith is the hope for something not seen

As a young sportsperson I was always reminded of the saying, “it is not over till the fat lady sings!” So often I needed to be reminded that despite the situation, and no matter how desperate things appeared, there was still hope while the game was still going.

What an important lesson to learn. All too often we tend to believe that it has all amounted to nothing. We listen and accept the lies, that nothing we do now will have an impact on the outcome. We are convinced that our fate is sealed.

Our sin is not something that could not be forgiven!

Let us remember today that God is the one that holds our life and every breath in His hands. If He has continued to give you life, then He has a purpose for it today. With every beat of your heart and breath, know that God is up to something!

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you that You are involved very intimately in my life. You hold the universe and my life together, and no matter what life looks like, You are the giver of hope! I place my trust and faith in You today.

In Your Name,

Amen
