Mother-in-law Daughter-in-law Dilemma-Excerpt

Mother-in-law, daughter-in-law dilemma book cover

By Pamela Reynolds –

The book is insightful, thought provoking and entertaining. It is about the ongoing struggle between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law as they strive to foster a harmonious relationship for the benefit of their son/spouse. It invites female readers to think critically about the importance of the dynamic between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law as well as to take a proactive approach to this relationship.

The book offers interesting vignettes and brainstorming discussions to enrich the debate and promote communication. At the end of each chapter, questions are provided to guide the reader to reflect on their own relationships in order to broaden understanding and promote communication. The book highlights such issues as power struggles, gift giving, grand parenting, holidays, time commitments, obligations, jealousy, insecurity, and more. A must read for mothers-in-law who are entering or in new territory without the ground rules, and anyone married or soon-to-be married.

The Author Pamela Reynolds –

I have been writing since the day I was able to pick up a pen. I am the mother of three sons and one daughter, and the mother-in-law of three daughters-in-law and one son-in-law. At present, I have five grandchildren, four grandsons and one granddaughter. I have another grandchild on the way. I currently teach first grade, have a dual certification for both regular and special education and in my spare time I enjoy my passion for writing. I have written over twelve children’s books as yet unpublished. I worked on my book for over fifteen years. I began the book as a daughter-in-law and finished it as a mother-in-law. In that time my research has led to the conclusions and suggestions entered within the pages of the text. My main hope is that all who read the book will have a greater understanding and peacefulness in their relationships with their mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law.

My website www.motherinlaw.me  contains more information about my book and press release, as well as television bookings, and upcoming magazine articles. I am available for book discussions and interviews.
