Is it too late to start taking care of your skin?

By Ela Klein –

I don’t know about you, but every time I look in a mirror I see an older version of me looking back and you know what? I like her.

I know that I have earned every line and wrinkle and I’m almost proud of them.

fall scents for your home

Don’t get me wrong, I would like to have the skin and body I had in my twenties with the mind and knowledge I have now.

Dare I quote Elizabeth Taylor? She said: “With 20 you have the face you were born with, and with 40 you have the face you deserve.”

No truer words have been spoken.

Does this mean I will contemplate cosmetic surgery to help combat ageing? NO WAY!
I know a lady who has had so many facelifts, that she now has the nickname Frankenstein’s Masterpiece.

Another lady has had Botox so many times, her face has become lopsided.
There are so many people who are void of any facial expressions; I don’t want to end up looking like them.

The media bombard us with beautiful people and yes some ladies do look absolutely amazing and never seem to age, of course we know that most pictures are airbrushed. I believe it is a great achievement and not a burden to become older.

The best thing is that you have a choice and it is your choice to make.

I have made my choice and that is to look after my skin with the best skincare products suitable for my skin. Do you ever have the luxury of having a facial? It is a real treat, right?

Now how would you like to be able to recreate that very same facial in the comfort of your own home, or even better take it with you wherever you are?

Knowing which are the correct products for you as well as how to use them correctly can be so much fun and can also save you so much money.

It is not too late to start to look after skin and this is how to do it.

5 important steps to a happy and healthy skin

1. Cleanse
2. Tone
3. Boost/treat
4. Moisturise
5. Mask

There are so many products to choose from and where do you start?

• Make sure you know what skin type you are ( you can always drop me a line and I can help you find this out really quickly)
• Choose the correct products for your skin type
• Make sure you use products which include anti-ageing ingredients and NOT a standalone anti-ageing range ( you might have dry skin and therefore you should concentrate on getting sufficient moisture as well as anti-ageing, or you might have sensitive skin and need products which help your skin to calm down)
Using a standalone anti-ageing range will not cater for your individual needs.
• It is best to use products from the same brand as they will have been formulated to work well together.

  1. I love that this article is about making the best of what God gave you and not altering your looks with Botox or cosmetic surgery – thank you, thank you!!

With new advances in skincare treating the multiple, underlying causes of aging, there are viable (and affordable) alternatives on the market today that will slow the signs of aging.

As to the steps listed above, there’s one important step omitted that should always be included in a skincare routine: PROTECT. Whether heading to the office or outdoors for work or play, an SPF 30 or more should be applied daily. (And for anyone planning on being outdoors for an extended period of time, re-applied.)

Since only 20% of our appearance comes from genes, that leaves 80% to our care routine and protection from the sun (and other environmental stressors). So lather up and face each day and smile knowing you’re doing all you can to have naturally heathful and radiant skin!
