The 405-acre Hyatt Regency Lost Pines resort opened in June 2006 and delivers a luxurious Texas wilderness escape.   In 2010, Travel & Leisure magazine ranked the resort and spa 18th in the “World’s Top Family Hotels and Cruises”.  This amazing getaway truly offers something for everyone.

The Hyatt adjoins the 1,100-acre McKinney Roughs Nature Park, is graced by a mile of Colorado River frontage, and is only minutes from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. It is in the Lost Pines region of Bastrop County, Texas, where a large forest of Loblolly pines thrives despite being separated from the better-known pine forests of East Texas.

The “lost pines” mainly grow in a narrow, 13-mile-long area east of the Colorado River.  About 10 miles west of the main forest, a small stand of 38 acres makes its home in McKinney Roughs.  Local legend claims the pines originated from a heroic effort by Native-American runners who carried seedlings from East Texas for transplantation to comfort a homesick Indian girl who had married into a far-away Central Texas tribe.
