God is Doing a New Thing – And it Shall Spring Forth

Spring is a time for new beginnings, birth, a bursting forth, filled with warmer days, more light, and hope.  A time for new things and I believe God is doing a new thing today – right now. So if you’re ready for change, or a new beginning, hold on because God is about to do something new and it shall spring forth.

The Word says in Isaiah 43:18, “Behold I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth” – just as the breaking forth of a flower in the spring. Like bulbs from beneath the ground, covered by soil or snow for months or a plant that winters over, often appearing dead but not so. It is in rest as it winters over, the cycle of life as God intended, that the necessary physiological process can take place below the surface where there is much more going on than one can simply see with their eyes.

If you are at a place where you are struggling, maybe battling something, a relationship, a job, illness, an addiction, or something perceived as even good but it’s not bearing fruit, maybe it’s time to prune. Sometimes we must let go of something – to make room for new things in our life.

a flower opening in the springa blooming flowerTake time today and ask God what you need to let go of to make room for new things. Sometimes God calls us to let go of even good things for His best. Or we may need to examine our heart for hidden sin that we may not recognize as sin in our life. And like a plant that is allowed to die back so new life can come forth in its due season, what might need to die in your life to make room for God’s plans and purposes in your life?

I’d like to declare, prophetically, that God wants to do a new thing in you.  Your part – to remove clutter, unfruitful activities, or sin so the new thing can spring forth! Prepare your heart by circumcising – cutting away any unforgiveness, jealousy, anger, envy or anything that may be a snare and repent so you can step into all that God has for you in this new season.

  1. Powerful message, that all can relate to. I think many of us know the obvious things we need to prune from our lives, but what stuck out to me was, “the unfruitful activities” one may be doing and not even know it. It may seem so minor, but how much time do we really waste doing such things that don’t bring honer to the kingdom? I am challenged to ask myself that question….thank you so sharing mom 😉

  2. Letting go is the season we all seem to avoid but without doing so we only hold up what God wants to accomplish with us. He always has a plan and purpose for us, a new thing, and we need to be always listening to that call. Thanks for this Carol!!! Timely message!!

  3. Great post, Carol. “Sometimes we must let go of something–to make room for new things in our life.” So true, life gets so cluttered up with stuff. Thanks for the reminder to let it go. I met you on LinkedIn, but it’s my first time here. You have a nice site and beautiful pictures.

    Sweet Blessings,
