Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Proverbs 31:10-18. The wise woman applies more than her brainpower to the issue at hand. Using experience and her teaching, she works diligently to provide for her family and the community around her.
“A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up while it is still night;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her female servants.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.”
Hard work is noble.
It is tough to be the first one up in the morning and the last one to bed at night. We can easily become despondent in the amount of effort, blood, sweat, and tears that go into life.

The life of a child is so appealing because it is filled with days of rest and games. Children dream of the great exploits that lie before them. Consumed by the idealistic image in their heads, all that they see is a bright hopeful future.
While some royalty and a select few may be born into a life of comfort and abundance, the rest of us are left to do the noble work. Be sure to approach all that you do with the wisdom of God. He will provide and bless the honest and truthful laborers.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you, Father, that You see all that I do. While I work hard and toil, I do it all as unto You. May You take joy in my efforts, and may You be glorified in all that I do. I come before You today to receive Your rest from the work and efforts that I put into all that I do each day.
