Daily Devotional – Wisdom Brings Calmness

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Proverbs 29:6-15. Pride is the cause of the downfall of nations, companies, churches, and people. Instead of being elevated and before all men to see, pride brings the boastful to their knees.

“Evildoers are snared by their own sin,
but the righteous shout for joy and are glad.

The righteous care about justice for the poor,
but the wicked have no such concern.

fall scents for your home

Mockers stir up a city,
but the wise turn away anger.

If a wise person goes to court with a fool,
the fool rages and scoffs, and there is no peace.

10 The bloodthirsty hate a person of integrity
and seek to kill the upright.

11 Fools give full vent to their rage,
but the wise bring calm in the end.

12 If a ruler listens to lies,
    all his officials become wicked.

13 The poor and the oppressor have this in common:
The Lord gives sight to the eyes of both.

14 If a king judges the poor with fairness,
his throne will be established forever.

15 A rod and a reprimand impart wisdom,
but a child left undisciplined disgraces its mother.”

Fight for the rights of all!

We have a saying in our family, “the truth will come out.” Many people think that they are swift enough to avoid and cheat the consequences of lies. Lies and sins have a way of entangling us. One lie leads to another lie. Before you know it, you do not recognize the truth.

God has instructed us to be just and righteous. We should do what is best for others and not oppress them. God is watching over us all and will fight on behalf of the poor and oppressed. If you wish to have it go well with your life, you do not want the King of all kings against you.

With time, those that seek their own glory and way will despise those that point to a humble path that honors the Lord Almighty. Those that do not wish to bend their knee before Jesus will stop at nothing in order to get their way and will. Let us acknowledge God and His position, seeking His way and will above ours.

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, Father, that You love all of Your creation. You have created us all equally and for Yourself. Help me Holy Spirit to see Your hand in all things and wisely walking calmly with You.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
