Daily Devotional – What Should I Do?

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Isaiah 42:14-16. We have all had times when we do not know what to do. We’ve all had times when we questioned our next steps. We’ve all looked back and wondered what could have been if?

“For a long time I have kept silent,
    I have been quiet and held myself back.
But now, like a woman in childbirth,
    I cry out, I gasp and pant.
15 I will lay waste the mountains and hills
    and dry up all their vegetation;
I will turn rivers into islands
    and dry up the pools.
16 I will lead the blind by ways they have not known,
    along unfamiliar paths I will guide them;
I will turn the darkness into light before them
    and make the rough places smooth.
These are the things I will do;
    I will not forsake them.”

Stop right where you are

  • Do you trust God?
  • Believe that God will lead you?
  • Do you trust in His direction?

Once you settle this in your heart, you will begin to receive clarity in making decisions. God will not direct you if you do not believe His word. He will not direct you if you do not expect to receive direction.

The word of God says that without faith it is impossible to please God. He rewards those who earnestly seek Him, and if you seek him, you must believe he exists. Listen, believe, and obey.

“The steps of a man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way.” Psalm 37:23

If you want God to direct your steps, remember this; the psalmist prayed, “ With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.” Cry out to God. Seek Him. Trust that he hears you and learn to obey His word.

“The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.” Proverbs 16:9

Now go out and share what you know. Be the person God created you to be. Let His agenda become your agenda and then you will know exactly what you must do. Go forth and make disciples.

“How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? “Romans 10:14

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your direction. Thank you for leading me. Help me Lord, to be obedient to your word and listen to your leaders. Help me to follow your directives. I desire to become the person you’ve called me to be.
