Daily Devotional – Walk, Leaping and Praising God

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Acts 3: 1-10We live in a world where everyone is raising money and providing for the superficial needs of others. The Western world provides millions of dollars for countries impacted by weather or catastrophic events. Is this really what is needed?

“One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon. Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.

Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. When all the people saw him walking and praising God, 10 they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.”

fall scents for your home

The Bible is filled with recounts of miracles and a time where the supernatural God invades our natural world. It can seem extreme and unreal. Closer to even unbelievable. we don’t get to see similar miracles in the church on a Sunday. When last did you see a paraplegic person receive complete healing in your church services?

With our real-life experiences and lack of miracles, it is very easy to understand why the church of Jesus has fallen into a slumber. Either you will face the scriptures with skepticism or a sense of judgment. If the Bible is the truth, you will fight an internal discord. Why do we not see the miracles recorded in the Bible?

Has the church become domesticated? Have we had our strength removed like Samson? Do you believe that God can do miracles again in our time?

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

I stand on the firm ground of Jesus as my savior. You have recorded in the Bible Your might and miraculous ability. I want to see You move again for Your glory. Use me, use my prayers and to remove the barriers and have You rain down Your spirit on earth!

In Jesus’ name,

Amen
