Daily Devotional – The Kingdom of the Ancient of Days

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Psalm 118:1-9. Blessing and honor, glory, and power are due to the Lord and God that has always stood steadfast from generation to generation. The Kingdom of God shall reign over all the earth for eternity.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
    his love endures forever.

2 Let Israel say:
    “His love endures forever.”
3 Let the house of Aaron say:
    “His love endures forever.”
4 Let those who fear the Lord say:
    “His love endures forever.”

5 When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord;
    he brought me into a spacious place.
6 The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid.
    What can mere mortals do to me?
7 The Lord is with me; he is my helper.
    I look in triumph on my enemies.

8 It is better to take refuge in the Lord
    than to trust in humans.
9 It is better to take refuge in the Lord
    than to trust in princes.”

Sing unto the ancient of days!

None can match your matchless worth, Jesus! Every knee shall bow before Your throne. Every tongue shall declare Your glory and exalt Your name above all other names, and everyone will see Your enduring love.

In addition to everlasting love, our Father remains faithful to protect and hide those like you and me. We can be assured as we cry out to Him for help, that He the ancient of days will surely provide us with refuge.

Let us remember today that there is no better place to take refuge than the embrace of our creator. Jesus spared not the glory and majesty of heaven for the death on the cross. Our Father, the rock and protector is our steadfast refuge.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you Father that You welcome me into Your presence and bubble of protection. I choose You as my defender and savior over all others.
