Daily Devotional – The Stars Shone Bright

Daily devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Genesis 1:11-19. After creating the bubble of protection for God’s creation, He set about focusing on the growth of His new earth and the expanses beyond the bubble.

“Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. 12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day.

14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. 16 God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.”

God said that it was good to bear fruit!

One of the principles of life is that we bear fruits that match our hearts. We are known for our fruit that is on display. If you are seeing fruit in your life that you do not like, then you need to seek God and ask Him to give you the wisdom to change.

An orange tree is known by its fruit, if we have the fruit of the Holy Spirit, love, joy, peace, etc. it is because of God within us. Let us get a little more of God within us, so that we can bear His fruit in this beautiful world that He has created for us.

The stars of the sky are beautiful to gaze upon. More important to the beauty is the revelation of a God that is calculated and precise. I can not draw the same circle twice, yet God has the earth rotate around the sun exactly the same way each year for thousands of years. He is so precise that our forefathers used the stars to know where they were on the seas. The stars illuminate God’s brilliance!

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, Father God, that You are perfect in everything. You created this world so precisely and perfectly for us.  You didn’t overlook a single thing and You have not overlooked me too. Be glorified today as I look to precisely worship You!

In Jesus Name,

Amen
