Daily Devotional – Stand Firm in Faith

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Philippians 4:1-3. It is not how we start, but how we finish that counts! A powerful quote that I have shared with many over the years.

“Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, dear friends!

I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. Yes, and I ask you, my true companion, help these women since they have contended at my side in the cause of the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers, whose names are in the book of life.”

Grace says to not look where you stand today!

So many are convicted and feel condemned into apathy and an unwillingness to fight. It is for this reason that society faces the cycle of oppression. Don’t you ever wonder why people choose to live a defeated life where they are the victim all the time?

God has given us the victory already. No matter what happens today or tomorrow, in the end as God’s children, we are walking away victorious. The boxer that is knocked to the ground gets up with a smile, and under their breath says, “It doesn’t matter, I win this one!”

Life is sure going to bring us challenges and knock us down. Some blows will leave you breathless. You will swear that you do not have the strength to continue but just stand to your feet. Let us stand firm on the words and promises of God today despite what is surrounding us.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

I can stand again because of the hope and confidence that I have in the victory secured by Jesus. I will use all my strength and determination to stand for You and Your glory. In faith, I will get up again today to stand on Your promises!

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen
