Daily Devotional – Sound Doctrine

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from 2 Timothy 4: 3-4. We are currently in a time where many of our friends, family, and co-workers are involved in things such as sin, but they see that society has put their seal of approval on those sins, thus confusion abounds.

“For the time is coming when people will not put up with sound doctrine, but having itching ears, they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own desires, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander away to myths.

The Word, however, is clear; compromise with the world is enmity with God. You cannot be a friend of God and a friend to the world. You must choose whom you will believe; God or societal norms.

fall scents for your home

The world calls “good” evil and “evil” good. When you walk in agreement with the world, you are walking in enmity with God and in direct conflict with His Word.

We are coming into a time when, if you do not know for yourself the truth of Scripture, you could fall under deception. This time of the Church Age is the same time John, the Revelator speaks of when he prophesied to the Church of Pergamos; the church of compromise. The church of Pergamos was guilty of moral and religious compromise, tolerating immorality, idolatry, and heresies.

Today, protect your future, your children, and your grandchildren with the truth of God’s Word. To accomplish this, you will need to give priority to study and understand what is written. Seek out sound doctrine and stand firmly on it.

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for Your Word. It is truth and light. Help me to better understand what is written. Help me to understand that man’s theology can be very different from true doctrine. Your Word alone is my measure. May I prioritize time to read, study and meditate on what is written.

In Jesus name
Amen
