Daily Devotional – Singing of Your Love Forever

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Joshua 6: 15-21Testify to the world of all that God has done in your life. Tell them of His love, grace, and mercy. Convince them that they too can partake in God’s kingdom.

“On the seventh day, they got up at daybreak and marched around the city seven times in the same manner, except that on that day they circled the city seven times. 16 The seventh time around, when the priests sounded the trumpet blast, Joshua commanded the army, “Shout! For the Lord has given you the city! 17 The city and all that is in it are to be devoted[a] to the Lord. Only Rahab the prostitute and all who are with her in her house shall be spared, because she hid the spies we sent. 18 But keep away from the devoted things, so that you will not bring about your own destruction by taking any of them. Otherwise you will make the camp of Israel liable to destruction and bring trouble on it. 19 All the silver and gold and the articles of bronze and iron are sacred to the Lord and must go into his treasury.”

20 When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city. 21 They devoted the city to the Lord and destroyed with the sword every living thing in it—men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys.”

fall scents for your home

The other day we looked at how God is jealous. He protects His name and glory. Boy did God earn His glory here in Jericho.

If I told you that we were going to walk around a shopping mall for 7 days straight. At the end of the 7 days, we would have store owners come out from the mall giving us all the earthly desires we could take from that Mall. How serious would you take me? Joshua not only told the Israelites that they were going to walk around the massive walls of this great city for 7 days, but that God was going to deliver this entire city into their hands.

God certainly gave the Israelites a great victory that day. It was a great victory for His glory and honor. We speak about the miracle from God that day still today. What was the last victory that God accomplished in your life? How much have you bragged about God and His workings in the miracle?

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

You are able to do miraculous things in this world. You are able to overcome all barriers in ways that I don’t understand. I will sing and glorify you all my days, for Your love is greater than all that I encounter.

In Jesus’ name, Amen
