Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is Psalm 150 (NASB), a Psalm of Praise. This doxology (an expression of praise to God) gives us a clear understanding of what we are to do in our daily life. It teaches us who to praise, how to praise, why we are to praise, when to praise, and where to praise.
“Praise the Lord!
Praise God in His sanctuary;
Praise Him in His mighty expanse.
2 Praise Him for His mighty deeds;
Praise Him according to His excellent greatness.
3 Praise Him with trumpet sound;
Praise Him with harp and lyre.
4 Praise Him with timbrel and dancing;
Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe.
5 Praise Him with loud cymbals;
Praise Him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord!”

Praise and worship are key to spiritual warfare. Darkness is pushed out and the light of God is ushered in. We see above, in this particular psalm, that we are to praise; everything that has breath is to praise. It shows us how to praise; with instruments, with dancing, with the words of our mouth in hymns and song. It shows us why we praise; because God is worthy, God is great, and He has done mighty deeds. It shows us who to praise; God alone. It shows us where to praise; in His sanctuary. Praise changes the atmosphere but more importantly, it changes our hearts.
Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.…Ephesians 5:19 BSB
Today, make a decision to have praise on your lips for God day-by-day and watch how the love of God will fill your heart and your home.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for who you are. Thank you for being my God, my Lord and my savior, who is worthy of all praise. Help me to learn to live a life of continuous praise so that I might properly honor you.
