Daily Devotional – Praise to Our Savior

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Zephaniah 3:17-20. This scripture is such a great example of God’s love and desire to be our savior. From the beginning, God has wanted to restore His prized creation to Himself.

“The Lord your God is with you,
    the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
    in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
    but will rejoice over you with singing.”

18 “I will remove from you
    all who mourn over the loss of your appointed festivals,
    which is a burden and reproach for you.
19 At that time I will deal
    with all who oppressed you.
I will rescue the lame;
    I will gather the exiles.
I will give them praise and honor
    in every land where they have suffered shame.
20 At that time I will gather you;
    at that time I will bring you home.
I will give you honor and praise
    among all the peoples of the earth
when I restore your fortunes[e]
    before your very eyes,”
says the Lord.”

God wants to rescue and restore you!

To be restored means to be 100% renewed. Sometimes when we fox something, it is very evident that the object was broken at some point before. Being renewed leaves no evidence that at some point before that there was an issue.

God wants to restore not only our relationship but us. Every memory and aspect of who we need to be restored so that we live life never knowing the pain of being removed from our Father and creator. Our renewing and restoration will also include the relationships with those around us.

Jesus came to free us from oppression, sin, and rebuke from the throne of God. The Father intervened in the situation where our efforts would never achieve the desired goal. Let us rest in God’s grace and learn how to be gracious to others. Restoration is before us, we only need to accept it!

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you that You sent Jesus to earth to die on the cross and make the way possible for me to be renewed and restored. Being freed by Your Son, I have experienced such joy and freedom from oppression. Help me today to share this good news and pay it forward to those around me.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
