Daily Devotional – Peace Out to My Sister

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Isaiah 26: 3-8. God’s peace is perfect and settles the heart, soul, and mind in the toughest of environments. The fruit of God that will blossom from within our hearts brings about confidence. An assurance from which hope can continue to exist.

“You will keep in perfect peace
    those whose minds are steadfast,
    because they trust in you.
Trust in the Lord forever,
    for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.
He humbles those who dwell on high,
    he lays the lofty city low;
he levels it to the ground
    and casts it down to the dust.
Feet trample it down—
    the feet of the oppressed,
    the footsteps of the poor.

The path of the righteous is level;
    you, the Upright One, make the way of the righteous smooth.
Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws,[a]
    we wait for you;
your name and renown
    are the desire of our hearts.”

Peace is a fruit that points to our faith and confidence in God. If our hope and trust are placed in something or someone other than God, we can not have peace. Isaiah sings on how our peace is one of longevity, as our Lord is the Rock Eternal!

Peace can only reign in us when God has complete control. Once we have surrendered our lives, thoughts, and opinions to the sovereignty of Him. As we resign our efforts to controlling our lives and the situation we face, God can level the mountains to straight paths.

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Our desire is that You and Your name be glorified. Fall on us and help us by Your spirit to trust You and have greater confidence in You. May Your peace be with us and all the circumstances around us each day!

In Jesus’ name, Amen
