Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from John 8: 31-38. God’s love for us has come to set us free. His truth and His love have paid the price for our salvation and redemption to Himself. The truth sets us FREE!
“To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
33 They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?”

34 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35 Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. 37 I know that you are Abraham’s descendants. Yet you are looking for a way to kill me, because you have no room for my word. 38 I am telling you what I have seen in the Father’s presence, and you are doing what you have heard from your father.[b]”
Jesus came to speak truth to u. Burdened by His love for us, He came to speak the truth about our sin and how we could receive salvation.
Love requires that we speak to truth to those that we love. Being honest and speaking truth allows for freedom! It not only releases the person that receives the truth, but it releases the person that doesn’t need to spin webs of lies and deceit.
If you love someone, you will want them to be free! Speak truth to them so that you both can be free!

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you, God, that you have spoken truth to us. You testified to the truth while walking on earth. Give me Your strength to speak truth and freedom to all.
