Daily Devotional – Love Beckons You Closer

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Romans 8:31-39. No one can separate us from the love of God, except for ourselves. The one that could condemn does not. There is then no barrier or hurdle restricting our response to the call of love.

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:

“For your sake we face death all day long;
    we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”[j]

fall scents for your home

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[k] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

There is nothing stopping you, but yourself

Jesus paid the price and our salvation rests in His lap. He had said unto the Father to forgive us as He gave up His life on the cross. Jesus could condemn us, yet He chose to die on our behalf and offer us salvation. He loves us and calls out to us to step closer and respond to His love.

The resurrection of Jesus overcame death and He holds the keys to life and death. There is nowhere on earth, dead or alive that we could be that the love of God through Jesus could not find us. A love that calls out to us to draw closer every day. God wants to fellowship with us, He loves to be with us!

If Jesus does not condemn us for our transgressions but loves us, who are we to condemn others. Today as you go about loving everyone that you meet, smile and let them know that you and Jesus do not condemn them.

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, Jesus, that You as the one who holds the keys to life and death do not condemn us. Your grace and mercy have overcome my sin because of Your love. Give me Your love so that I too can extend grace and mercy to those around me.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
