Daily Devotional – Life Changing Scripture 4

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Revelation 3:14-22. Jesus spoke to the church in Laodicea and beyond. He warns us against being lukewarm. The warning is for us to be committed to our beliefs and statements.

“To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:

These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.

fall scents for your home

19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

21 To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

Be sure of what you believe.

Living in the United States, almost everyone within the country knows about Jesus and what He did on the cross. We all know about His birth and celebrate some form of this every year. The country can not say that they have never heard the story of the gospel and good news.

While it is important to accept and acknowledge Jesus as your savior, if you are not raptured immediately, then comes the level of sanctification. God wants to prepare the bride of Jesus and have the church prepared for the lover of their souls.

Every day, you will face small, medium, and even big decisions. Each decision will refine your heart and character or it will create a bitter spirit. God is calling us today to stand and live according to what we claim to believe. Remember that there is grace and God knows your heart, so live a life to love and glorify God with each decision.

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, Jesus, that You willingly gave up your life on the cross. I want to be committed to living a life that will magnify and worship You. I walk away from indecision and lukewarm decisions. Today I live for You, and every day to come!

In Jesus Name,

Amen
