Daily Devotional – Leadership by Integrity

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Joshua 6:22-25. Leading others requires integrity and honesty. You need to honestly give a clear picture no matter how grim it looks while doing everything to keep your oaths and promises.

“Joshua said to the two men who had spied out the land, “Go into the prostitute’s house and bring her out and all who belong to her, in accordance with your oath to her.” 23 So the young men who had done the spying went in and brought out Rahab, her father and mother, her brothers and sisters and all who belonged to her. They brought out her entire family and put them in a place outside the camp of Israel.

24 Then they burned the whole city and everything in it, but they put the silver and gold and the articles of bronze and iron into the treasury of the Lord’s house. 25 But Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute, with her family and all who belonged to her, because she hid the men Joshua had sent as spies to Jericho—and she lives among the Israelites to this day.”

Integrity ensures that you do what you say.

One of the most frustrating character traits that I have seen in business and life is when people do not fulfill their promises. I have always wondered why they feel that they needed to make false promises to start with.

As leaders of others, we need to honorably follow through with our commitments and promises. With most people in the world failing to be truthful and honest, your integrity shouts loudly that you are worthy of trust. People will follow those that they can trust!

Integrity and honesty go hand in hand. Not only do we need to be honest with God, but we need to be honest with our fellow humans. As you strive to lead others with integrity and honesty, see how God will draw others to Himself through you!

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, Father God, that You have given us the belt of truth. It brings and holds our salvation together. Help me to live a life of integrity that brings honor to You and Your kingdom, so that others may learn to trust You because they trust me.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
