Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Romans 14:7-12. As we come before the King. We ask that He search our hearts and speak to us. God, we ask that You speak truth to us.
“ For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. 8 If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. 9 For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.
10 You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister[a]? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. 11 It is written:
“‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord,
‘every knee will bow before me;
every tongue will acknowledge God.’”[b]
12 So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.“
Acknowledging Jesus as the son of God, and that He paid the price for our salvation is paramount to our belief in Christianity. The Bible speaks of how this knowledge is given to us by the Holy Spirit. The revelation of who Jesus is is what causes us to acknowledge who He is. We bow our heads and go on bended knee to our Lord.
As children of God, we stand before our Father pure and open. He knows us intimately and thoroughly. We have no need to fear His knowledge of who we are because Jesus has died and paid the complete price for our salvation. With an open heart and open arms, we can approach the throne of God.
So rather than coming to the ned of life and being forced to bow before God and acknowledge Him. I will choose to live and die for God. No matter where I find myself between life and death, I will acknowledge and sing worship to God.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your love and forgiveness, God. Help me by Your spirit today to live for You. I choose to live for the Lord of both the living and the dead.
In Jesus Name,
Amen
