Daily Devotional – Jesus is My Fuel

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Psalm 147:1-12. The fuel that my spirit burns on is Jesus. Without the hope and promises set before me, I would not have the strength or hope to continue sometimes.

“Praise the Lord.[a]

How good it is to sing praises to our God,
    how pleasant and fitting to praise him!

fall scents for your home

The Lord builds up Jerusalem;
    he gathers the exiles of Israel.
He heals the brokenhearted
    and binds up their wounds.
He determines the number of the stars
    and calls them each by name.
Great is our Lord and mighty in power;
    his understanding has no limit.
The Lord sustains the humble
    but casts the wicked to the ground.

Sing to the Lord with grateful praise;
    make music to our God on the harp.

He covers the sky with clouds;
    he supplies the earth with rain
    and makes grass grow on the hills.
He provides food for the cattle
    and for the young ravens when they call.

10 His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse,
    nor his delight in the legs of the warrior;
11 the Lord delights in those who fear him,
    who put their hope in his unfailing love.

12 Extol the Lord, Jerusalem;
    praise your God, Zion.”

Sing unto our savior with joy and thankfulness!

I long and thirst for the presence and action of Jesus in my life. I long for the day where His Kingdom will reign and all the world will be put back in balance. Our Father is our provider. Just as He provides everything for the birds and beasts of the fields, He provides all that we could want or need.

The wisdom of God exceeds anything that our minds could even consider or contemplate. Holding all the universes within His fist, He numbers the stars in the sky and the hairs on each one of our heads.

Jesus paid the cost so that we could be fulfilled and our thirst quenched. Let us find pleasure, joy, and sustenance today in our Lord, God, and Father.

Let’s Pray

Dear Father,

Thank you Father that You are the one who provides and meets all my needs. I acknowledge that my soul thirsts and longs for You alone. I come to You and Your well to be filled today.

In Jesus’s Name,

Amen
