Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Acts 2:1-8. Before Jesus ascended to heaven, He promised that He would send the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, and help us. The Holy Spirit fell upon the disciples in a powerful and mighty way, and today He is here waiting to fall on you!
“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them.
5 Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. 6 When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken. 7 Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans? 8 Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language?”

Jesus called us to abide in the Father, Now we can!
Jesus had often spoken about the necessity to dwell in the presence of and abide in Himself. With Jesus on earth, God had the opportunity to pull back the curtain on the physical world and enter it in a new way.
Now with the curse of Adam removed from all mankind, it would allow God to enter His creation again as He had always intended. God would now be able to be everywhere and at a very specific location at the same time. Jesus offered God the opportunity to be among His creation. The only problem was that He was limited by the human body.
The Holy Spirit coming onto the scene changed everything, and now God would be able to dwell within us and among us. The Holy Spirit allows us to abide directly into the bloodline of God. We can be prompted by the heartbeat of the Father, just as Jesus was. What are we waiting for, let us draw nearer and have the Holy Spirit fall on us afresh today!

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you, Father, for sending Yourself via the Holy Spirit to the original disciples. You have remained on earth all these years and I take the opportunity to abide directly with You. Come afresh on me today with Your Holy Spirit!
