Daily Devotional – Heal Our Land Lord

Daily Devotional

Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from 2 Chronicles 7: 11-16. Sometimes we get a glimpse into the broken world that we live in. The curtain gets pulled back and we get to see the world from a different perspective.

When Solomon had finished the temple of the Lord and the royal palace, and had succeeded in carrying out all he had in mind to do in the temple of the Lord and in his own palace, 12 the Lord appeared to him at night and said:

“I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices.

13 “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. 16 I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.

Praying for healing for my friends

As we step out of our comfort zone and into the shoes of our brothers and sisters, our eyes will open. I personally was blessed to be raised by my parents in the church. God protected me from so much evil during my formative years.

Coming from the cocoon and traveling the world, I have come to see a lot of what I was protected from. My heart breaks for those that have seen such evil and been hurt so deeply by those around them. I certainly do not understand it.

I am though reminded of how God and Jesus have instructed us to live our lives. If only we would all love each other and do unto them what we would have them do unto us.

We need to all pray for our broken and dry land. We need God to draw our country and it’s citizens closer to Himself. As they draw closer to God and live according to His laws, our cities, states, and country will change for the better. So let us join each other in prayer!

Let’s Pray

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, God, that You are always there. You are always listening and desire that we call on You. In our desperation, I join with my brothers and sisters to call for Your involvement. Come and heal our land for Your glory!

In Jesus Name,

Amen
