Our scripture for the Daily Devotional today is taken from Jeremiah 29:10-14. God had allowed Israel to be taken as prisoners to Babylon. While the Israelites cried out to God from the foreign land, God looked on through His plans. He was never going to leave them exiled, and He was always going to redeem His creation!
“This is what the Lord says: “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place. 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity.[b] I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”
God’s plan was always to redeem His creation.
No matter how Israel had sinned against God and turned their backs on Him, God still loved them. No matter our sin, big or small, God still loves each one of us. He had a plan to restore Israel and He has a plan to restore you!
Love, that is the reason that God has created His plans and listens to our cries.
We do need to humble ourselves before God, acknowledging that He is the only worthy God. Submitting ourselves to His will and plans, we must seek His heart and Him with all that we have. We need to search for God as though He is the only worthwhile treasure to find and win!
Let’s Pray
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you, Father God, that You have had a plan from the beginning. Your love for us has prompted Your action. Let Your love prompt my action to love those around me so that they can experience You and the love that they so earnestly crave.
In Jesus Name,
Amen
